Alaska
If you are looking for an original destination, where you can wade in among spawning salmon, watch bears catch dinner and follow lazy humpbacks, Alaska offers all that in breathtaking scenery. There is no bareboating in Alaska because of the strong currents and a short season, from late May to early September. However, private luxury charter is an attractive and realistic alternative to cruise ships, with prices from around US$3,900 per person for a 10-day charter. Truly a lifetime's experience.
